Beijer Constructie has a long history. Exactly how long nobody knows. What is certain is that the company started out over 100 years ago as the Telder forge in Meppel town centre. In 1920 it was taken over by the Beijer family. Despite having since changed hands several times, the company still bears this name. In 1996 Beijer became part of the GB Steel Group. Since then we have developed at a rapid pace. We outgrew our premises and in 2003 relocated to our current site on Rabroekenweg. Here we continue to create custom steel structures for you!
Steel construction calls for precision. That is why Beijer Constructie has its own drawing office. Using Tekla Structures, a program developed specifically for the steel construction industry, we are able to produce detailed workshop drawings. Beijer specialises in BIM projects and Tekla fits in perfectly with this. For constructions involving wood, steel or concrete we make use of different, integrated drawing packages. With the help of these drawings our planner purchases materials as economically as possible and arranges for prompt delivery. The correct specifications are sent electronically to the workshop, where we saw profiles to the required length and punch and shear lips and head and foot plates.
One-off projects are of particular interest to Beijer Constructie. We are good at series production, but even better at delivering custom solutions. Staircases and landings can be constructed to meet your specific requirements. For us, taking on special projects and structures is a matter of course. Our employees boast many years of experience in relation to a wide range of structures. The machinery we work with includes a CNC sawing machine and a punching/shearing machine, while for complex structures we regularly make use of the machinery available at our sister companies. That means that Beijer can always deliver custom steelwork - on a large or small scale.
We devote a great deal of attention to your steel structure and that remains the case even after it has left the factory. Our own assembly workers ensure that it is assembled quickly, safely and properly on site. Quality and safety are of the utmost importance to Beijer. That is why we have obtained VCA (Safety Checklist for Contractors) certification. All our employees are in possession of the VCA Basic Safety certificate, while supervisors hold VCA VOL (Safety for Operational Supervisors) certificates.
At Beijer Constructie we set ourselves high standards and various certificates are testament to the fact that we achieve them. Beijer Constructie was the first Dutch metalwork company to achieve CE certification. We also hold the NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2008 quality certificate, which means that we carry out projects in accordance with international standards. This is something that we have also laid down in our quality manual. Working safely is obviously important to us too. We therefore comply with the Dutch Health, Safety and Environment Checklist for Contractors (VGM Checklist Aannemers) and are also VCA*2004/04 certified. In addition, Beijer Constructie is an approved work placement company.
